Bio-Based & Recycled Tech Become Global Nylon Innovation Focus
At the recent International Synthetic Fiber Association annual conference, bio-based monomer polymerization and chemical recycling technologies were highlighted as core innovation directions for the global nylon industry in the next five years. Companies including BASF, DuPont, and China's Fangyuan New Materials presented their latest R&D achievements. Fangyuan's "Chemical Depolymerization Recycling Technology for Waste Nylon Textiles," which efficiently converts discarded textiles back into high-quality chips for closed-loop recycling, is currently in the industrial demonstration phase. These technological breakthroughs are driving the transformation of nylon from a traditional petroleum-based material to a sustainable material system, reshaping global supply chains.
